A Human Approach

Should change be a four-letter word?

You know where I’m going with this, right?

It’s one of those words that when we hear it we brace ourselves like something negative is about to come.

The idea of having to change jobs, or locations, or learning that the menu changed, our buyer changed, a date changed, the neighbours changed, technology changed, styles changed….

Just when we got comfortable with a situation it changed.

Change can be so stressful.

But think about it.

We like spare change, changing clothes, changing our minds, and change for the better.

What’s the difference?

Aha – it’s not that we don’t like change, it’s that we don’t like being changed.

There is a difference.

When conditions or circumstances impose change it means we need to involuntarily do something differently.

When change is a choice it means we’re in control as opposed to being controlled.

Change is inevitable. There is no such things as status quo.

So what if we decided to change our perspective about change convinced at the onset that it’s change for the better?

It’s about staying in our power.

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” ~ Maya Angelou

Love this.
