A Human Approach

Aha Moment Monday

Reading time – 39 seconds

Have you ever woken up from a deep sleep and been unable to move for a few seconds?

There is a condition known as “sleep paralysis” and essentially it’s the body not transitioning to an awake state as fast as the mind. So you wake up – eyes wide open – but your muscles take a few seconds to catch up.

Years ago they used to say it’s demons in your body but now we know that it’s simply this. If you didn’t go into some state of stillness during sleep, you’d likely physically act out everything on your mind! Thankfully the body rests while the mind stays active.

Aha – ironic the parallel to today’s business!

We’ve come out of this recession – sleep – with our minds active ready to take the next step, but our body – company – isn’t catching up.

Here’s my thinking.

The person at the top of the mountain didn’t fall there. If we activate our minds with passion and innovation, progressive momentum is sure to kick in!

Coffee anyone?
