A Human Approach

When you were young were you told, “practice makes perfect”?

Perhaps it had to do with math equations, or horse back riding or reciting a speech.

Regardless of the quest, it IS true: practice does make perfect.

The way we humans learn is through repetition. When we repeat a mantra, action or behaviour it eventually becomes habit. The reason being that our subconscious mind accepts whatever we feed into it – it’s like our auto pilot – so whatever the conscious, or awake, mind, chooses to do eventually creates a new set of habits or “normal”.

Now let’s suppose that you’re practicing – math equations, horseback riding or reciting a speech – but what you’re practicing is in poor form. Will you become “perfect” at the end?

Well – yes – but perfect at what?

Poor form?

Aha – What if you, instead, chose to “practice perfectly”?

This would mean your mind would be wide open to change in order to evolve towards perfection.

Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.

But it’s tough letting go of the old!!

Creating a new normal requires releasing any attachment to the old paradigms and habits and being open to practicing new ones. Ones that will take you where you want to go.

If you want to know what someone is thinking, look at their results.

Results are a direct correlation to thoughts, feelings and habits.

Soooo….what’s one thing you’d really, really, REALLY, like to accomplish?

Maybe time to tweak the practice routine?
