A Human Approach

The Soul of Your Organization

It’s been said that a company is known by the people it keeps.

Here’s what I mean.

One experience with one individual can determine your impression of an entire company.  Regardless of the advertising campaign, the social media posts, the cool products or groovy slogans, one interaction with an associate – could be a sales individual, a customer service rep, tech support, or someone in accounting – can have you singing their praises or running to the competition.  It only takes one individual, one experience, to determine your perception of an entire brand.

How do you consistently skew that in your favour?

Well, first ask who is on your team?

Then, are you focused on raising superstars, each of whom shines their own light, OR are the stars aligned in a way that brings light to one another and illuminates an entire team?

Aha! ~ “The main ingredient of stardom is the rest of the team.” ~ John Wooden

Here’s the clincher: “The best team doesn’t win nearly as often as the team that gets along best.” ~ Dr. Rob Gilbert

The right talent in the right place is essential, but success soars when you’re in a team that is inspired, motivated, and energized by the spirit of the rest of the team.

There is a natural mix of personalities that is evident regardless of the size of the group, whether it’s a small committee for a charity initiative or an international corporation.  Even in families, you’ll find a host of introverts, extroverts, analytics, comedians, pillars of strength, inspirers, drainers, and doers.  We are all different and we all have a role to play.  But it’s the combination of individual strengths AND a shared value – that a successful team beats with one heart – that is the unifying force that fuels a movement.  It’s a spirit of oneness.

“A nation’s culture resides in the heart and in the soul of its people.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
